When Spring Begins in Tokyo
🌸 FEBRUARY 2026_
February in Tokyo brings the first signs of spring. In this video, we visit a beautiful plum blossom festival at a historic shrine and then head to Yokohama for a fun and unusual museum dedicated to one of Japan’s most famous foods.
- Plum blossoms at Kameido Tenjin Shrine
Every year, the shrine hosts a plum festival where hundreds of plum trees bloom in shades of white and pink. Dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the shrine is especially popular with students praying for success in their exams. Walking around the ponds, surrounded by blossoms, turtles, and carp, it feels like the quiet beginning of spring in Tokyo.
- A visit to the Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama
Our next adventure takes us to Yokohama to discover the story of Momofuku Ando, the creator of instant ramen. The museum explains how a simple idea became a global food phenomenon. We even designed our own Cup Noodles and explored the noodle food court inspired by Asian night markets.
A calm winter outing between nature, Japanese traditions, and a little bit of food history.
